MEET DR. SHERRI ROCHEL

I built Education That Matters around one belief: learners deserve to be understood before they are expected to succeed.

ETM’s learner-first approach: see the learner, understand what is getting in the way, and build a path that helps them thrive

- Parents & Learners

Families often come to ETM feeling overwhelmed and unsure why learning remains difficult. They have been told their learner needs more practice, more effort, or more time. ETM takes a different approach.

I uncover what is really happening, create a clear plan, and build the skills and confidence learners need to move forward without endless tutoring.

Hope. Relief. A Way Forward.

MY WHY

Education as it exists does not work for every learner.

WHAT I HEAR FROM MOST PARENTS
"My child can explain it to me at home. Why are they failing at school?"

Our learners deserve so much more.

I became an educator because I love watching learners discover what they are capable of.

But after seeing too many learners fall through the cracks, and experiencing it with my own children, I realized instruction alone was not enough. Families needed clarity. Learners needed confidence. Educators needed a better way to identify what should come next.

I created Education That Matters to make personalized learning practical. Every learner deserves to be understood, supported, and given a clear pathway to mastery.

Dr. Sherri Rochel’s background includes more than ten years in education, an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Teaching, authorship, an

THE MOMENT THAT MATTERS MOST

The moment that makes it all worth it.

"I get this."

Then they explain it back with confidence.

That's when I know they no longer need me.

Success is not measured by how long a learner stays with ETM. It is measured by how confidently they move forward without us.

It is not when a learner gets the answer right.

It is not when a grade improves.

It is the moment they look up, smile, and say...

BEYOND ETM

Rooted in family, faith, and community.

When I am not building learning pathways, writing curriculum, or working with learners and educators, I am usually with my husband and children or helping on our South Dakota farm. The values that shape our family also shape ETM: faith, hard work, service, and the belief that every learner deserves someone who sees their potential.
